Hi. My name is Fred. I am a Pom-Chi mix. I am a wonderful dog! My mom often calls me special needs, but I am not sure what that means. All i know is... I have had a very hard life until now. Most of my life was spent in a puppy mill where I was treated awful. Then I went to a breeder. Finally Puppy Pals came and rescued me. Since being rescued I have realized how much fun life can be. I love going outside and barking with the other dogs. On sunny days I like to lay on the deck and relax. I am still very timid and fearful. I get worried when people try to come up to me because I am afraid they may beat me. However, once I trust you I will jump up and lay by you on a couch for a little bit so you can pet me. I love food. My foster family gives me lots of treats, dingo bones, and good food. At night I sleep in my cage. I like my cage a lot. During the day if I get too scared I may wander into my cage. I get along very well with other dogs. I do great on walks. My tail starts wagging and I get really happy when the walk starts. Even though people have been mean to me, I don't have a mean bone in my body. I have never shown a fierce side to humans or dogs. If another dog tries to take my food, I just let them. I really need a family who can give me a lot of love and attention. The best home for me wouldn't have a lot of activity. Another dog may be nice, but not mandatory. Most importantly I really need owners that will be patient with me and help me learn to trust people again. I am a wonderful dog, and I get better each day. Mommy calls them baby steps.
